Unleashing The Power of Silver Economy
March 27, 2025 | New Delhi
India is witnessing a demographic transformation. The United Nations Population Fund projects that by 2050, one in five Indians will be aged 60 or above, making up nearly 20% of the population. The decadal growth rate of this age group has already surpassed other segments, and by 2036, they are expected to constitute 15% of the total population. This aging population presents both challenges and opportunities that require immediate and sustained attention.
The rapid increase in the elderly population underscores the need to address critical issues they face, such as inadequate healthcare, financial insecurity, social isolation, and age-based discrimination.
Yet, this demographic also represents a reservoir of wisdom, skills, and potential that remains largely untapped. Despite these challenges, the elderly are not merely recipients of care but are vital contributors to society. With their rich experiences, skills, and spending power, this demographic can play a transformative role in social, economic, and cultural domains.
DadiDada Foundation, in collaboration with Senior Citizens Service Trust, brings to you the “Silver Synergy Summit”- a conference aimed to initiate discussions that can unleash the power of silver economy. The “Silver Synergy Summit” is envisioned as a platform to highlight the challenges and opportunities of an aging population by fostering collaboration between different stakeholders including policymakers, industry leaders, healthcare providers, NGOs, academia and more.
Together, let us unleash the power of India’s silver economy!
The Senior Citizens Law was introduced and the audience was made aware of its provisions. Also the organization communicated that it would be providing free legal advice and services to fortify the position of the seniors within the family and the society, through its volunteers.
